WEIGHT LOSS TIPS At the Holidays.  Well, it is that time of year again:  Fun, food and fattening.

But YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SUFFER if you know some ideal weight loss tips and secrets.

Here is what I do to maintain my ideal weight.

1.  Avoid F-A-T-S:  Fatty Fake Foods Aspartame Additives Toxic Substances, Simple Sugars.

2.  Increase Movement, especially resistance training like free weights.  Fiber foods like vegetables and complex carbohydrates, whole grains, some fruits.  Each day move for at least one hour.  Why not make it fun?

3.  Decrease stress.  Cortisol, the toxic stress hormone, can increase weight gain.  Meditation is a good way to lower stress, as is taking time for relaxation, fun movement like walking or dancing and just goofing off.  Plan days off during your holiday so as not to over stress.

4.  Sleep enough.  Plan to get 7 – 9 hours of sleep every night.  This will in turn help to relieve stress as well.

5.  Lower Alcohol consumption.  Alcohol is a toxic substance, which not only increases stress, but as well slows down your metabolism.  Do not drink alcohol with meals, as it increases the amount of “FATS” foods you consume.  Ways to avoid alcohol:  Drink a glass of water between each drink, only drink socially (not alone), slowly sip and savor a satisfying flavorful choice, rather than chug it down all at once, only savor one glass of red wine.

6.  Drink 8 glasses of filtered, clean water throughout the day.
