Guided Meditation for Healing after the Loss of a Loved One. This week spirit channeled through me a lovely guided meditation for healing while working with a client.

A Client Story Using Guided Meditation for Healing

This client had lost her husband over five years ago, however, she was still having difficulty healing. She knew this because she felt guilt when she tried to move forward to a new future and enjoy her life.

“Guilt may be a form of self-criticism for not meeting your own expectations and standards, and it may arise when you’re grieving a significant loss.” This was taken from PsychCentral.

At first spirit relayed to her that living in the past was like trying to live in a reality that no longer existed.

Then spirit clairvoyantly showed me an image of her energy body being dragged out of her physical form, as it strained to enter her memories of the past.

Painful!

This inspired me to create a guided meditation to begin her healing. Here it is.

Guided Meditation for Healing

“Imagine you are alone in a beautiful forest. There is a path ahead of you, but you cannot walk forward as your right leg is writhing in pain.

You look down at it. Your right calf is stuck in a bear trap, bleeding with a bone exposed. You almost faint at this feeling the pain and realizing the depth of this injury.

You realize now is the time to release this trap or stay wreathing in pain unable to move forward on the path before you in the forest.

You say a prayer, asking your higher power to help you.

On the ground before you appears a key. You grab it with great alacrity moving towards the lock on the bear trap.

It snaps open.

You look at your leg. It is somehow rapidly healing, the wounds completely closing and becoming whole again.

You are pain free!

You get up and take a step forward. Then another step.

You begin to move forward into the current reality and space. You are healed!”

Results After the Guided Meditation for Healing

After we did this meditation I looked at her face. Her skin appeared brighter and lifted. Her eyes were sparkling. She had a light smile of realization on her lips.

I could see something had shifted.

She immediately told me she realized she was unable to put the loss behind her because she did not want to enjoy something her loved one could no longer enjoy.

She had felt guilty.

I reminded her

  1. Those in spirit are living on, having their own joy, happiness and new life.
  2. She could share her joy with her loved one in spirit by sending this joy to this person when she felt it.
  3. She needed to enjoy her life because if she did not her sadness would be felt by her loved one in spirit, dragging this person down.

She was able to see how her guilt was a problem, not a solution.

She was able to release her guilt!

This was a wonderful, cathartic session, we both enjoyed completely. When it was over we both knew something healing indeed had occurred.

We both felt complete.

Loving-Kindness Meditation: Also known as Metta meditation, this practice focuses on cultivating compassion and love towards oneself and others. Begin by focusing on yourself, silently repeating phrases like “May I be happy, may I be peaceful, may I be free from suffering.” Gradually extend these wishes to your loved one who has passed, and eventually to all beings. This technique helps in developing a sense of connection and unconditional love, easing feelings of loneliness and sorrow.

Guided Imagery: In this practice, you visualize a serene place or imagine yourself with your loved one in a happy memory. Guided imagery can be done through pre-recorded sessions available online or through meditation apps. This technique helps in creating a safe mental space where you can find comfort and solace, facilitating emotional healing.

Body Scan Meditation: This involves focusing attention sequentially on different parts of the body, promoting relaxation and awareness. Lie down in a comfortable position and slowly bring your attention to each part of your body, starting from your toes and moving up to your head. This practice helps release physical tension and encourages a connection between mind and body, fostering a holistic healing process.
