It was a crisp early fall day in New York City. The leaves had just begun to turn, yet it was warm enough to go out with only a light jacket or sweater. Leslie sat home aching to get out. She had been laid off from a job she disliked and now found herself with extra time on her hands.
Leslie, had been reading “The Game of Life and How to Play It,” a book written in the 1920s by an artist and metaphysician called Florence Scovel Shinn. She opened the book to a random page this day to see what it said.
Basically it told her to follow her “feelings,” her intuition that day. She sat there wondering how to do that. All she could think of was to go out and walk.
When she felt to turn left she did. When she felt to turn right she did. Following this path she finally found herself inside Central Park approaching a park bench.
There was only one person sitting on it. She was drawn to go and sit there. Interestingly enough this man had much in common with her. So much, in fact, she thought it quite a coincidence her intuitive travels that day had led her to this bench.
He, like her, was a “high tech” professional who did not like his work any longer. He had been frequenting a well known psychic medium in Manhattan for weekly demonstrations of channeling, as well as private readings. Leslie went to this very same medium and had worked in high technology.
As their friendship formed he invited her to go with him to visit another psychic reader he frequented in upper Manhattan. When she got there, the Cuban ex-medical doctor turned Santorian reader told her “Your guides want to come through.”
“What the heck does this mean?” she asked. He explained what to do to get them to speak to her.
As soon as she got home to her miniscule apartment in Queens, she asked her guides speak to her. Suddenly her head was pushed back and a booming voice emitted from her throat.
Not understanding what this was, she ran to the other side of her tiny apartment. Obviously this was not an escape, nor did she truly desire one. She asked they speak again.
This time their voice came in softer. She began her career as a channeler of her guides that day.
The process to begin your dialogue with spirit is a direct, but not difficult one. Here are the steps.
- Meditate daily. Leslie began her opening to spirit during a time she did not have to go to work. This provided a relief from day to day tensions and allowed her brain waves to slow down. You can get the same effect through a regular meditation practice.
- Ask. Leslie asked for her spirit guides to come through. It is advisable to ask in prayer with protection. At first Leslie did not know to do this, but was protected anyway. You should always ask to work in highest light and love.
- Receive entirely. Leslie was at first very frightened and agitated when her guides responded to her request they come to her. After quieting down, she allowed them to speak through her fluently and frequently without censoring what they said. The more she did this the better her communications got.
This is the basic process to open to spirit channeling. A great way to lead up to this process is to begin to write down answers you get. Most individuals do not get immediate vocal contact. They rather receive ideas, feelings, colors and even symbols. Some get words which become automatic writing.
Channeling is receiving a stream of consciousness from a source outside your normal conscious mind. To many it feels like an entity entered their energetic field and controls their hand to write or their vocal chords to speak. Whatever your sensations, make them correct.
The more you make what you receive correct, the more you will receive.
