MY STORY:  My peri-menopause years are past, well into menopause I no longer struggle to maintain a svelte 115 pounds of lovely form (unless I go back to the way I used to eat.).  Find a recent picture of me on the right.

I sought to eat better because I was getting sick all the time, and was tired as well.  I needed to improve my health or I would not be able to work as a psychic medium any longer.

This work is very demanding.  It requires a sharp mind and healthy body.

Spirit can drain you.  Troubled clients can drain you.  As a medium I had to learn how to protect my energy not only by setting healthy energy boundaries with clients and spirit, but as well setting healthy body maintenance boundaries with myself.

In the hunt for health, I decided to get a L.E.A.N. Health Coach Certification from Dr. Bill Sear’s program.  I love all things related to health so this was an inspiring choice for me.

This training revealed something new.

I became aware of cellular inflammation.   This is the cause of adding weight to your body during peri-menopause and into menopause.

Most people that hold extra weight on their bodies, particularly in the mid section are:

  1. Aging faster than they have to.  Hello!  Wrinkles anybody?
  2. Protecting their organs from the damaging chemicals and toxins in their diet!
  3. Harboring the beginning of many diseases, the first being diabetes.  All diseases begin with cellular inflammation from diabetes to heart disease to cancer and all others.

LOVE.  Even though I was over 60 years old, I still felt I wanted to be as attractive to my romantic partner as possible.  Being as appealing as possible is another reason to be vigilant in keeping your body a healthy weight.

So as I sought to eat better, I began to choose foods of a certain caliber.  If man had a hand in creating it (additives, hormones, pesticides, etc.), then my hand did not go on it.

This may sound a bit simple, but it worked to my amazement.  I found I was eating and eating, but a healthy, anti-inflammatory diet.

The weight just melted away, revealing a new me.

An anti-inflammatory diet is a whole food, phyto-nutrient focused way of eating.  Fish or fowl is the complement to the main course which would be whole grains, vegetables and fruits.

I watched the amount of oil and fat I ate as this combined with starchy foods, even if they are complex carbohydrates, is deadly to your body’s metabolism.

When I eat this way, the pounds melt off of me.  It is so easy, simple and satisfying.
