INTRODUCTION:  I just got on the scale this morning.  I was frightened since yesterday I ate so much I thought I would burst!

Ah, the Holidays!  So much fun, and oh, so much bloat!  You just “gotta” love ’em!

HOWEVER, much to my amazement the scale reflected I lost 2 more pounds from the Holiday Bloat I had unwittingly accumulated in the four weeks prior.

How did this happen?

The EASY HEALTHY SECRET follows.

Weight Loss Tricks. This time of year (the Holidays) is extremely difficult to maintain your ideal weight.

Yet I have found an easy way to maintain my ideal weight.

Easy Ideal Weight

Eat Vegetables as the main course!

It all started when I decided to improve my overall health.

I was suffering from recurring upper respiratory infections. After being debilitated by a virulent coughing infection which would last from 4 to 6 weeks a few times a year, I put my foot down.

As I began to research solutions the first thing I found was plant based eating (vegetables) was found to create a revolutionary shift in preventing degenerative diseases . The main book is “The China Study,” by Dr. Campbell.

As I followed this plan of eating mostly vegetables, (you can eat meat, fish or fowl in moderate quantities), no added oil or fat to my meals, the weight flew off of me. I wasn’t trying to lose weight, although I needed to do so.

I just wanted to stop getting sick all the time. This way of eating was helping me heal.

In this journey I was drawn to get a Health Coach Certification (Dr. Sears LEAN Health Coach).

There I learned to eat REAL FOOD!

What a concept. So simple, yet so overlooked.

Even today when I mention to people that what they are eating is not really a food, they don’t quite get it.

Neither did I at first.

But when you think about it, anything man made, is processed food.

Anything you can pick from a tree, plant or harvest directly from nature is unprocessed food or REAL FOOD!

If you were to do nothing different than the following few steps you might find normalizing your metabolism is as easy for you as it was for me.

Normalize Your Metabolism.

  1. Eat real food. Food that comes directly from nature, not a laboratory, bakery or processed.
    1. Avoid anything white like sugars, starches and simple carbohydrates.
  2. Make green vegetables the main course. Make protein the side dish. Vegetable will fill you up, optimize your intestinal flora, keep your intestines clean, your skin glowing, your heart healthy and your blood sugar optimized.
  3. Eat fresh fruit instead of sweets.
  4. Eat as much as you like of these foods.
  5. Eat real fat, not fake fat. Fats from real are fine to eat. Fats from a processing procedure are not. Ex. Avocado is real fat. Margarine is fake fat.

Additional

  1. Get exercise. Even a minimum of 30 minutes walking 4 times a week will do wonders for your metabolism. I work out every day for about 1 hour! I always find the time because it makes me feel good.

Lastly

  1. If you eat something outside of this plan, simply go back to the plan. It is what you do most of the time that creates your body.

Confession

So even though I knew this and in practicing these habits had no problem maintaining a leaner profile, I slipped recently.

I started eating sweets here and there. Then before i knew it I was eating a little chocolate after the meal.

Chocolate, Dark, Coffee, Confiserie, Dark Chocolate

Then a little chocolate turned into a bag of M&Ms each day!

Could sweets be addictive?

Healthline article: Experts Agree: Sugar Might Be as Addictive as Cocaine

Yes! Not only are they addictive but they slow down your metabolism, feed cancer, create plaque in the arteries when mixed with fake fats, mess with blood sugar encouraging diabetes, rot your teeth, lower your immune system, disrupt your healthy intestinal flora and so on.

My skin broke out. My belly bloated. My weight increased!

I will gently lead myself back out of the sweet forest into the green land of plants again.

Chocolate (cacao) is healthy, but refined sugar is not.

Find ways to satiate your palate with real food. Eat as healthfully as you can as much as you can.

All else will follow gracefully.
